a Valentines day without benge drinking? that's unimpossable

Valentines day is just a few weeks away and I'm feeling odd about it. usually valentines day is an excuse for me to mope around depressed at all of the lovers sharing their special greeting card holiday while i go home and drink a shitload of booze/beer and jerk to some porn. However this year is the first year since high school (and i'm not even sure if i can say high school since i was usually broken up around valentines day) that I've been in a relationship so i actually get to plan stuff and have fun this year.

Sadly the 14'th is out, she has to work (her work schedule is kinda annoying me but that'll be another rant) so we'll do out thing on the 12'th. I got some baseball tix for the Yankees vs the pirates, i was thinking about scheduling a tour of yankee stadium for the 12'th but then i remember it's February and likely damn cold. I got a book of 'love coupons' with some cheesy shit like 'redeem this for a back rub' or redeem this for 3 hours of sex in the afternoon'. I might get some earrings for her as well... not sure money is a bit tight with me having to pay for a trip to myrtle beach for a batch party weekend in march and she wants me to buy a camcorder before we go to the Philippines plus i owe fucking taxes...

Finally progress on the wedding stuff

YAY reizl and i finally have made headway into getting the wedding setup by meeting with the preacher we want to get to do the ceremony ( Dr. Craig Higgins) and he agreed to do the ceremony. Now we just need to find a church to have it in (sadly my church doesn't have a 'real' sanctuary) and figure out what to do for the reception but at least the snowball is rolling. Next week we are going to look at reception places and perhaps churches and their is a bridal/wedding show we are going to that may have some vender's we like. Hopefully we'll have everything set up before we go to the Philippines in march.

I am really happy Craig agreed to officiate the ceremony, he is a fellow southerner who has a certain levity to him and is very serous about his faith. any priest who can recommend a good comic shop because he personally shops their is gold in my book.

Subliminal Advertising on Iron chef america?

I was catching up on all the TV i missed over the weekend and during the ending of Sunday nights Iron Chef America (the one with Morimoto vs that post modern cook from Chicago with the eatable paper, hey he won so he must have cooked some good stuff) I noticed a very quick McDonalds flash at the end of the show, less than a second in length (audio didn't cut or anything).

Is the food network REALLY doing subliminal advertising? If not what the hell was that?

Playoff picks

sadly i'll be missing the playoff games thanks to inlaw birthday stuff but i may as well make my picks.

1)colts over tha pats by less than 3 points. I'm betting that either Vinatieri makes a last moment kick to give it to the Colts or Gostkowski blows a late kick.

2) Saints over the Bears by a good margain. Grossman sets a record for the lowest Quarterback rating in the playoffs.

Just starting a new blog (old one is here which is super out of date... i mean geeze survivor talk BLAH). It might be interesting with a marriage coming up later this year, a 2 week trip to the Philippines and varous other stuff... Or it might just be blah and I'll stop updating it again.
